BANGOR, Maine — A Bangor man is facing a burglary charge after he was arrested on Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

Bangor police Officers Dennis Townsend and Taylor Bagley were dispatched to a Penobscot Street address around 3:15 p.m. after a woman indicated that Stephen Nason, 27, had broken into her apartment, according to Sgt. Paul Edwards.

Nason allegedly broke into the apartment through a window and the woman discovered him passed out in a bathroom. She woke him up and told him to leave, but he wouldn’t comply and attacked her, Edwards said.

The sergeant said the victim was punched in the face several times before she called 911.

When Bagley and Townsend arrived, Nason refused to cooperate and resisted arrest, Edwards said. The officers managed to get him into custody after a brief struggle.

Nason was taken to the Penobscot County Jail and charged with burglary, a Class B felony, along with misdemeanor counts of assault and refusing to submit to arrest. He remained at the jail Thursday morning.

  1. Lucky he wasn’t in my house. If he attacked me, or my family, 911 would’t be the first call. The first call would be Brooking Smith.

  2. Lady , are you crazy??
Some one breaks into your house and passes out on the floor
so you try to wake him and get punched in the face ??

    Next time try this
