NORTH BERWICK – Violet J. Roberts, 90, of Lynn Street, died peacefully Jan. 4, 2013, at home. She was born June 25, 1922, in Dennysville, daughter of the late Willard and Julia (Lund) Jones.
Violet grew up in Dennysville, where she met and married Lawrence Roberts of Whiting. She worked at Eastport Sardine Factory as a packer and later worked at Lady Helene Petticoat Factory. Violet and her husband moved from Eastport to Farmington, N.H., where they worked for and retired from Davidson Rubber, Co. Violet loved spending time with her family, especially hunting, fishing and camping. Later in life she looked forward to trips to Foxwoods with her grandson, Stan and his wife, Dawn, and her daughter, Evelyn.
She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Lawrence Roberts; a son, Lee, son-in-law, Thomas Rice Sr.; and grandson, Thomas Rice Jr. Survivors include her daughter, Evelyn Rice of North Berwick; daughter, Marie Patch and her husband, Roger, of Middleton, N.H.; a brother and sister-in-law, six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours. A private graveside service is scheduled for the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to North Berwick Rescue Squad, P.O.
