DEXTER – Marilyn J. Bilodeau, 80, loving wife and mother, died Jan. 9, 2013, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Jan. 2, 1933, in Guilford, the daughter of Dennis and Cora (Cookson) Martell.
She attended schools in Guilford and Solon and graduated from Skowhegan High School, class of 1951. She worked at the telephone offices in Skowhegan, W. Palm Beach, Fla., and Dover-Foxcroft. She also worked at Spring Street Greenhouse in Dexter. She was a communicant of St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Dexter and was a member of Daughters of Isabella. Marilyn was a former member of Dexter Municipal Golf Course, and Dexter Women’s Literary Club.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Richard N. Bilodeau Sr. of Dexter; three sons, Kevin of Waterville, Darryl of Jacksonville, Fla., and Rick of Dexter; special daughter-in-law, Donna Bilodeau of Dexter; four grandchildren, twins, Casey and Harlan Bilodeau of Brooksville, Fla., and Corbin and Gabrielle Bilodeau of Dexter; brother-in-law, Wayne White of Anson; two brothers, Richard Martell of Tacoma, Wash., and Stuart Martell of Palmetto, Fla.; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Michelle McCormick and her husband, Pat, of Ayer, Mass.; and many close friends whom she held dear to her heart. She was predeceased by brothers, Robert and Carroll; a sister, Norma Jean White; and a baby sister, Barbara.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Dexter, with Fr. Paul Murray officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Our Ladies Kitchen, P.O. Box 193, Dexter, ME 04930.
