SACO, Maine — A collaborative effort by three different police agencies in York County has led to the arrest of a Saco man accused of packaging heroin for sale at his apartment.
Michael Constabile, 23, is facing a charge of aggravated trafficking in heroin, a Class A offense punishable by up to 25 years in prison. He is being held without bail at the York County Jail, according to Saco Deputy Chief Jeffrey Holland.
Officers from Saco, Biddeford and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency collaborated on the investigation, Holland said.
Efforts to locate Constabile began on Tuesday afternoon, when drug agents developed information about suspected drug activity going on at his Lincoln Street apartment, Holland said.
A search warrant subsequently was issued for the apartment and a search turned up 8.4 grams of heroin in a bedroom, Holland said. The drugs had been packaged into 18 plastic baggies worth a total of $1,350.
Constabile was taken into custody without incident on Wednesday.
