HALLOWELL, Maine — A Sidney man could be facing charges after a single-vehicle accident in Hallowell early Sunday morning, police said.
Jeffrey Tompkins, 41, was heading north on Route 21 when his 1991 Saab veered off the road, hit a snowbank and struck a utility pole head-on, Hallowell police Chief Eric Nason said Monday.
Nason said Tompkins was not traveling at a high rate of speed. Pending toxicology tests will determine whether Tompkins will face charges.
Tompkins suffered head injuries and was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston for treatment.
