WASHINGTON, Maine — The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is handling a hot case.

Two wood stoves were reported stolen Saturday afternoon from a hunting camp in the town, Sheriff Donna Dennison said.

One stove is 3-by-2 feet wide, made of boiler plate steel, with “JC” welded on the back. The other is a barrel stove with a flat plate on top, the sheriff said.

Deputy John Palmer responded to the theft complaint shortly after 5 p.m.
