BANGOR, Maine — A local teenager with only her learner’s permit decided to go for a drive with three friends late Thursday, and was stopped after she apparently forgot to turn on her vehicle’s lights, Bangor police Sgt. Jim Buckley said.

The 16-year-old was noticed just before midnight on Harlow Street, near Central, driving without her headlights and was charged with driving without a license, the sergeant said.

The teenager, who was not identified because she is a juvenile, had three friends with her who were all 16 years old.

“No one else had a license,” Buckley said. “Their mommies and daddies came and picked them up.” (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)
