FORTVILLE, IND. – Roger M. Ennis, 87, formerly of Sangerville and Leesburg, Fla., joined his family in Heaven, Feb. 7, 2013, after a fall three weeks prior. He was born April 25, 1925, to Miles and Helen Richardson Ennis in Western New York.
He served in the Coast Guard during World War II and married his first wife, Dorothy M. Woodmancy during that time. In 1959, he moved his family to Maine to serve as district agent for Farm Family Insurance Co., retiring in 1983. He and Dorothy enjoyed many years of traveling prior to her death in 2006.
He was also predeceased by his parents, son, Dale R. Ennis; and siblings, Gaylord Ennis and Betty Hinkle; as well as several in-laws. He is survived by his second wife, Martha of Indiana. Also surviving, daughter, Dawn Ennis DeCotiis and her husband, Michael, of Gray; grandson, Jonathan R. Denham, his wife, Shannon, and great-grandson, Nathan, of Standish; and daughter-in-law, Paula Ennis of Apopka, Fla. He is also survived by many extended family members throughout the country.
At his request there will be no funeral. A memorial service will be held at a later day.
