PRESQUE ISLE – Blanche Beckwith, 91, passed away Feb. 18, 2013, in Springfield, Mass., after a short illness. She was born Dec. 12, 1921, in Mapleton, the daughter of Walter W. and Alta Maybelle (Smith) Beckwith Sr.
Blanche was a member of the historical society and was a historian of Spragueville Homemakers Extension.
She is survived by nieces and nephews and their families in Massachusetts, Connecticut and California. She was predeceased by her husband, Jasper Beckwith; and her siblings, Walter, James, Ruth and Merel Beckwith, and Carrol Wood.
Friends may call 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Johnson Cemetery, Presque Isle, with the Rev. Larry Palmer officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at www.duncan-graves.com.
