NORTHPORT – Annettie “Nettie” Merithew LaFontaine, 91, peacefully passed from this life on Earth into the loving arm of her heavenly father Feb. 24, 2013. Nettie was born April 20, 1921, to the late Carl and Arlettie (Lear) Merithew.
Nettie was predeceased by her loving husband, Robert; brother, Ronald Merithew; and two great-great-grandchildren, Daemyn and Andrew Webber. She is survived by her four children, Linda Sheldon and husband, Richard, of Caribou, Robert LaFountaine Jr. of Northport, Martha Toothaker and husband, John, of Rockland and Christine Ridley and husband, Clifford, of Richmond; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation 4-6 p.m. Friday, March 1, at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast, where a memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2. Interment will be held in the spring at Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Nettie would like donations to be made to Waldo County General Hospital, P.O. Box 287, Belfast, ME 04915.
