HARPSWELL, Maine — A sexual assault investigation resulted in the arrest of a Harpswell man on Tuesday, according to police.

Amos Johnson, 38, is accused of 32 counts of gross sexual assault and is being held at the Cumberland County Jail on $50,000 cash bail, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation revealed Johnson had abused a 13-year old Harpswell girl over a two-year period, according to the sheriff’s office. Johnson and his victim are not related.

Johnson was taken into custody without incident on Tuesday.
