MILFORD – Debra A. Donelan, 57, passed away peacefully Feb. 24, 2013, surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness. Debra was born Jan. 26, 1956, in Bangor, daughter of Julius C. Parker and Mildred B. Gomm.
Debra grew up and attended schools in Bangor. She worked for many years at Ansewn Shoe before moving to Alaska where she lived for 12 years working for National Bank of Alaska and then the Postal Service. In 1993, Debra returned to Maine where she then attained a medical assistant degree from Beal College. Debra was dedicated member of Brewer Eagles Club, enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, playing pool, dancing, singing and karaoke, but most of all loved spending time being a “nana” to her grandchildren. Debra will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Debra is survived by her children, Derek Porter and wife, Tracy, of Old Town, Karrie (Ross) Winch and Alan Winch of Hampden, and Nolan Godsoe of Milford; adopted son, Casey Hale of Monroe; grandchildren, Jacob, Madison, Zoey, Kevin, Sophia and Deacon Porter, Collin Hewes, and Kory Winch; brothers and sisters and their respective spouses, Lee Ann Daigle, Darryl Parker, Scott Harnden, Kathi Morrissey, Sue Ellen Dority, Barbara LeClair, Jimmy Gomm, Steven Gomm, Clifford Gomm, Tammy Bailey, and Minya Lynch; as well as her canine companion, C.J.; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Debra was predeceased by her father, Alfred Gomm; mother, Mildred Gomm; brother, Jay Parker; niece, Amy Parker; and two nephews, Fred Parker and Joshua Zowghi.
A memorial service celebrating Debra’s life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at Brewer Eagle’s Club, 22 Atlantic Ave., Brewer.
