CLEARWATER, Fla. — Becca Shemberger allowed only one hit and struck out 10 in leading Western Michigan by the University of Maine 4-0 in softball action Monday.
The Broncos opened the scoring with a pair of runs in the bottom of the third on Sabrina Gamboa’s two-run homer. Western Michigan tacked on runs in the fifth and sixth innings.
Kristen Koslosky had the one hit for Maine, which fell to 1-9.
Maine pitcher Beth Spoehr gave up four runs, two earned, on five hits while striking out four.
