WATERVILLE AND LINCOLN – Mavis Theodate (Palmer) Conlogue, 91, passed into the arms of our Lord Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013. Mavis was born May 25, 1921, to Maurice and Clyde (Sibley) Palmer. Mavis became ill Feb. 2 and just three short weeks later, she was gone. She was a great lady and her family and friends will miss her dearly.
Mavis resided at Woodlands Assisted Living, Waterville, since April 2012, and she loved it there. Prior to moving to Woodlands, Mavis lived by herself at Westbranch Terrace, Pittsfield, for many years. Mavis was married to Ernest Conlogue, who predeceased her, and they had two sons, Dennis and Victor. Mavis was a housewife for most of her life. When she was in her 50s, she became a certified nurse’s aide and worked at Colonial Acres, Lincoln, for several years. She loved her job and the people she met there.
Mavis is survived by her oldest son, Dennis and his wife, Mary. They have three children, Lewis and his wife, Dana Rae, of Lowell and their families; Sonya Erving and her companion, Bill Labonte, of Corinna and their families; and Melissa Noonan and her husband, Tim, and their daughter, Hannah. Mavis is also survived by her youngest son, Victor and his wife, Carol, of Epping, N.H., and their families. She is also survived by three brothers, Charlie Palmer of Connecticut, Carroll Palmer of Patten and Eben “Bud” Palmer of California and their families. Mavis was predeceased by her husband, Ernest; and several brothers and sisters-in-law.
Graveside services will be held in the spring in Lincoln, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband, Ernest.
