WASHBURN – Robert R. Welch, beloved father and grandfather, known to his precious granddaughters as Bubpe, passed away after a prolonged battle with heart and lung disease, March 15, 2013.
Though his passing has brought profound sadness to his family, Robert is now at peace and with his family in heaven joining his beloved wife, Rose. Family was something that Robert cherished above anything else. His “girls” meant everything to him. Although he loved his two daughters and sons-in-law with all his heart, his granddaughters were his world, his reason for fighting to be here as long as he could. Robert will be remembered for his charismatic and engaging personality. He was able to make friends wherever he went as he was dubbed the “Shy Guy” by many of the people that knew him. Robert will also be remembered for his sheer determination.
Robert is survived by his two daughters, Jennifer Welch of Eddington and Diana O’Clair of Ashland; two sons-in-law, Morgan Daniels and Greg O’Clair; two beautiful granddaughters, Cassandra Rose and Katelyn Christine O’Clair of Ashland; siblings, Carol and Richard Plante of Kittery Point, Francis and Anita Welch of Pittsfield, Helen Welch of Danielson, Conn., and Arthur and Diana Budge of Plymouth, Mass.; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard Welch.
