BENTON, Maine — A Thorndike woman whose SUV collided with a tractor trailer during Tuesday’s snowstorm remained in critical condition Wednesday, according to police.

Jeannine Ann, 65, lost control of her vehicle on a slushy Unity Road around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday and it was broadsided by a tractor-trailer driven by 31-year old Michael Hogan of Bangor, according to Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland.

Ann’s vehicle skidded into the opposite lane of traffic prior to being struck by Hogan’s truck, McCausland said Wednesday.

Hogan, who was not injured in the crash, was driving a rig owned by Clisham Construction of Winterport, according to McCausland. Hogan was hauling salt.

Both drivers were alone in the respective vehicles, which came to a rest off the side of the road following the collision.

Ann is listed in critical condition at Maine Medical Center in Portland, the public safety spokesman said.
