A high-speed chase from Yarmouth to Portland on Thursday night ended in a crash and an arrest, according to a news release.

Robby Beaulieu, 41, of Warren faces multiple charges after a chase that reached speeds as high as 110 mph on Interstate 295, the release said.

Police received reports of an erratic driver, Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland said in the release. Shortly after, State Trooper Douglas Cropper spotted a Cadillac in the southbound lane in Yarmouth that matched the description given in the report.

The chase ended at about 6:30 p.m. near the Forest Avenue exit in Portland after Beaulieu lost control of the vehicle, which flipped over, totalling it, McCausland said.

Cropper said he found an open bottle of whiskey in the car, according to the release.

Beaulieu had a suspended driver’s license, along with several other charges on his record, including operating under the influence, McCausland said. In relation to the chase and crash, he has been charged with criminal speed, eluding a police officer, driving to endanger and operating after suspension.
