DEXTER – G. Peter Lagasse, 71, died March 21, 2013, at Mayo Regional Hospital, Dover-Foxcroft, after a long illness. He was born Jan. 17, 1942, in Old Town, the son of Rodolph and Dorothy (Bennett) Lagasse.
Pete served in the U.S. Air Force as a flight mechanic for four years. He worked in the family owned IGA store in Dexter for several years, and also worked for Cianbro Corp., Pittsfield, as a millwright/foreman for 17 years.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Peggy Lagasse of Dexter; two sons, Michael and Christopher Lagasse; a stepson, John Yakulevich and family of Ocala, Fla.; a brother, Robert Lagasse and family of Derry, N.H.; a sister, Bonnie Lagasse and family of St. Petersburg, Fla.; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, April 6, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Dexter. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Parish Hall, next to the church, after the service.
