DANFORTH – Gerald Eugene “Judd” Frye, 81, went home to be with his Lord and Savior March 23, 2013, at a Bangor hospital with his loving family at his side. He was born Aug. 24, 1931, in Brookton, the son of James Grover and Hazel (Hayman) Frye.
Judd attended school in Brookton and worked in the woods most of his life for Georgia Pacific and Orland Dewelley, retiring in 1990. He was a member of Danforth Gospel Assembly.
Judd is survived by one son, Michael and his wife, Margaret, of Cary; one daughter, Susan of Danforth; two sisters, Ione Lane and Janice Lee and her husband, Delbert, of Danforth; one brother, Doug and his wife, Patricia Frye, of Danforth; a “very special” nephew, Mitchell Frye of Danforth; his “special” friend, Myrt Stoddard of Orono; two sisters-in-law, Veronica Crone and her husband, Robert, of Danforth and Shiela Estabrook of New Limerick; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by an infant son, two brothers, one sister; and his wife of 64 years, Violet (Cropley) Frye. Judd was always willing to lend a helping hand for friends and neighbors, and he helped many.
Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, March 25, at Clay Funeral Home – Bartlett Chapel, Danforth. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Danforth Gospel Assembly, Houlton Road, Danforth. After the services there will be a reception at the Robert McKinnon Building. Spring interment will be at Danforth Cemetery.
