MACHIAS, Maine — Kile Howard, 23, of Machiasport will spend one year in jail on an unlawful sexual contact conviction.
Howard was arrested in August 2012 after being accused of having sexual contact with a child under 5 years old he was baby-sitting.
Howard was sentenced Monday to five years in prison with all but one year suspended under a plea agreement. Except for an operating under the influence offense, Howard had no previous convictions.
Once released from prison, Howard will be placed on three years of probation and will be required to register as a sex offender for life.
