OAKFIELD – Anna Paul, 77, died March 23, 2013, in Houlton. She was born Oct. 20, 1933, in Oromocto, New Brunswick, daughter of John and Daisy (Sacobie) Sabattis. Anna was a member of Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Pelkey of Oakfield; sisters, Jean Sacobie, Loretta Sabattis and husband, Arthur, Cora Tomer, June Sabattis, and Rosemary Young and husband, David; brothers, Frank Sabattis and Royden Sabattis and wife, Carol; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; stepmother, Mary (Polchies) Sabattis; sister, Mary “Molly” Devoe; brothers, Ambrose and John Sabattis; and her special dog, Baby Girl.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday, March 31, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 1, at St. Mary of the Visitation, 110 Military St., Houlton.
