ST. AGATHA – Valier P. Chamberland, 89, died peacefully April 2, 2013, in Frenchville, surrounded by his family. He was born March 20, 1924, in St. Agatha, the son of Patrick and Alice (Corno) Chamberland.
He was a member of 3rd degree Knights of Columbus. Valier loved gardening and being outside, loved to joke with people, and being with his family and friends, he will be missed by all.
He is survived by his loving wife Aline (Dumont) of 66 years; daughter, Pauline and husband, Raynold, of St. Agatha; two grandchildren, Brenda and husband, Ken Gendreau, of Madawaska and April and husband, Peter Rouleau, of Illinois; four great-grandchildren, Nicolas Sirois, Jacob Gendreau and Page and Shane Rouleau; and three sisters, Fern Chamberland of St. Agatha, Theresa Martin of Madawaska and Ester and husband, Edwin Guerrette, of East Hartford, Conn..
There will be no calling hours. Friends and relatives may give their condolences to the family 9-10 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, with a service immediately after at St. Agatha Catholic Church. For those who desire, donations may be contributed in his memory to Hospice of Aroostook, 14 Access Highway, Caribou, ME 07436 and to St. Joseph Nursing Home, Frenchville, ME 04745.
