CORINTH – Joyce H. Coleman, 83, wife of Robert Coleman, died April 8, 2013, at her residence after a short illness. She was born June 23, 1929, at Orrs Island, the daughter of Claude and Barbara (Stilphen) Crocker.
Joyce worked many years as an independent insurance agent in New York and Massachusetts and also worked as a nursing technician. She was a member of East Corinth United Methodist Church and loved cooking, gardening and playing scrabble.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of Corinth, is a daughter, Jo Anne Spear of Astoria, Ore.; two sons, Claude Elliott and wife, Gloria of Harpswell and Harold Elliott and wife, Nancy, of New Hampton, N.H.; grandchildren, Claude Elliott Jr. of Bristol, Luke Elliott of New York City and Robyn Spear of Astoria, Ore.; two sisters, Myrtle Hanna and husband, George, of Round Pond and Claudia Hatch and husband, Fred, of New Harbor; many nieces and nephews, a special friend, Donna Campbell and family; and many other dear friends.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 15, at Corinth United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Proctor officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family 10 a.m. until time of service. After the service, a luncheon will be held at the church annex and all are invited to join the family for a time of reflection and celebration. The family requests that those who wish may make donations to Corinth United Methodist Church, in lieu of flowers.
