OLD TOWN – James R. Schuurman, 66, died April 4, 2013, at his residence. He was born March 31, 1947, in Boston, a son of Francis and Doris (Stimpson) Schuurman.
He is survived by a son, Kenneth Schuurman and his fiancée, Angie, of Orono; daughter-in-law, Charity Hannington and her fiancé, Matthew, of Monticello; lifelong friend of 22 years, Albert Sanders of Old Town; eight grandchildren, Andy, Johnny, Jeremy and Shawn Schuurman, all of Orono, DJ, Jim, Jayde Schuurman, all of Monticello, and Dani Craven of North Carolina; several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service with military honors at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta, will be announced later in the spring. Notes of condolence may be left at www.birminghamfuneralhome.com.
