ORONO – Daisy E. Lyons, 86, wife of the late Melvin Lyons, passed away April 11, 2013, at an Orono health care facility. She was born July 27, 1926, in Macwahoc, the daughter of Oland and Myrtle (Parks) Smith.
Daisy was a certified nurse’s aide and did lots of volunteer work. She worked at Nugent’s Camps and also at Howard Annis’ store. She liked to knit and read her Bible.
In addition to her husband and her parents; she was predeceased by sisters, Gertrude, Ruby, Shirley, Christy and Geraldine; and brother, Oland “Sonny” Jr. She is survived by several special nieces and nephews, whom she thought of as her own; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, April 18, at Lincoln Cemetery.
