CARIBOU – Alfreda (Ouellette) Belanger, 89, wife of the late Alphie Belanger, passed away peacefully April 14, 2013, with her family by her side at a Caribou health care facility. She was born Jan. 6, 1924, in Keegan, the daughter of the late Willie and Annastasie (Bouchard) Ouellette.
Alfreda had a keen sense of humor and enjoyed the simple beauty of life. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother and she loved to cook and take care of her family and home. Mrs. Belanger was well known for her love of music and getting on the dance floor to liven up any party. Alfreda’s unconditional love was felt by all that knew her. Above all, she had a very special relationship with God. Her faith was unwavering and gave her direction in life.
Mrs. Belanger is survived by her three children, Corinna Caldwell and husband, Robert, of Caribou, Alverna Plourde and husband, John, of Hermon and Rick Belanger and wife, Glenna, of Winthrop; her beloved grandchildren, Sheree Inman, Christopher Caldwell, Allison Fortier, Aaron Plourde and Jordan Belanger; nine great-grandchildren; her only surviving sister, Albertine Voisine of Port Orange, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Belanger was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Alphie, in 2006; brothers, Dennis and Donae Ouellette; and sisters, Marie Deschaine, Edith Ouellette and Mary Jane LeClair.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, April 18, at Parish of the Precious Blood, Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
