BANGOR – Farilyn H. Tinkham, 88, wife of the late Ernest Tinkham, died April 16, 2013, at a local hospital. She was born Aug. 21, 1924, in Milford, daughter of Joseph and Etta (Costley) Vassar.
Her family was her life. She enjoyed camping and especially the camp at the Rips, also snowmobiling and tubing at Matagamon.
Surviving are four children, Judith Albert and her husband, Robert, of Glenburn, Wayne Tinkham of Bangor, Brian Tinkham and his wife, Nancy, of Glenburn and Deborah Mower and her husband, Brian, of Hermon; nine grandchildren, Sherry Dubis and her husband, Jeffrey, Brian Kitchen and his wife, Chasity, Jarrod Tinkham, Dennis Tinkham and companion, Angie, Anne Kenneson and her husband, Jamey, Michael Tinkham, Robyn Gallant and her husband, Andrew, Jennifer Mower and Aaron Mower; eight great-grandchildren, Jacob, Nicholas, Tyler, Trista, Taylor, Madison, Kourtney and Zachary; former daughter-in-law, Kathy Doyer; nieces and nephews. The family thanks the staff at Eastern Maine Medical Center and Ross Manor for their care and compassion. A special thank you to Rebecca Bailey and the ICU staff, also Capital Ambulance and Hermon Rescue Squad.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 18, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, April 19, with Jamey Kenneson presiding. Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor, immediately after the funeral.
