EXETER – Lewis William Leavitt, 81, died April 19, 2013, at his residence. He was born Oct. 13, 1931, in Exeter, son of James and Hazel (Doyen) Leavitt.
Lewis was a lifelong resident of Exeter and had served in the U. S. Army. He farmed for most of his life but had retired from Blackwell Lumber, Corinth. He remained active and hard working in retirement helping many people.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years and eight months, Velma (Buswell) Leavitt; son, James and wife, Julie Leavitt, and their children, William and Emily, all of Exeter; as well as his loving extended family and numerous friends.
A graveside committal will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, April 25, at Corinthian Cemetery, Corinth. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna. Those who wish may leave written condolences at www.CrosbyNeal.com.
