BANGOR, Maine — A local transient who refused to leave his brother’s house upon request wound up under arrest early Tuesday, police said.

Francis Mooney, 53, who Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said was intoxicated, was taken into custody and charged with criminal trespass shortly after 2:30 a.m.

Mooney’s brother called police after Mooney refused to leave the Essex Street residence after the two had gotten into an argument, Edwards said.

Police arrived and quickly placed Mooney under arrest. He remained at the Penobscot County Jail Tuesday afternoon, Edwards said.
