SACO, Maine — Four men were arrested this week following a recent string of burglaries and a drug bust in which 32 grams of crack cocaine were seized, police said Thursday.

Noor Ahmed Mohamed, 22, of Biddeford was arrested on Tuesday, while Arthur McCurry, 28, and Raymond Boutin, 30, both of Biddeford, were taken into custody on Wednesday, Saco Deputy Chief Jeffrey Holland said.

Maine Drug Enforcement Agents and Saco police had been surveilling Mohamed’s Biddeford residence in an attempt to locate a suspect involved in selling drugs at a Lincoln Street address in Saco, the deputy chief said. Mohamed was arrested at his home Tuesday and charged with aggravated trafficking, a Class A felony.

Police heard reports in late April of burglaries occurring in the areas of Tasker and Bradley Streets in Saco, and McCurry was identified as a person of interest, Holland said.

On Tuesday, Saco police took five more burglary reports from residents living on Ocean Park Road, Coolidge Avenue and Mabel Avenue, according to Holland, with one resident telling police three firearms had been stolen. Mohamed had allegedly traded the firearms for crack cocaine, Holland said.

On Wednesday, McCurry was taken into custody and charged with five counts of burglary, Holland said. While McCurry was being placed under arrest, officers discovered Boutin had four warrants from Biddeford police for failing to pay fines, operating a vehicle without a license, failing to make an accident report and filing to notify police of a motor vehicle accident.

Boutin was placed under arrest and charged with the aforementioned offenses, along with theft by receiving stolen property, Holland said.

A fourth man, Jeffrey Noonan, 48, who resides in the Lincoln Street home where the drugs were seized, was also arrested Wednesday and charged with aggravated trafficking.

Mohamed, McCurry and Boutin all remain at the York County Jail while Noonan was released on bail, according to Holland.
