BREWER – James L. McHale, 76, husband of BettyLou (Roberts) McHale, died May 5, 2013 at a Bangor hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born Sept. 25, 1936, in Bangor, the son of Peter McHale and Irene (LeBel) McHale Gilpin.
James attended John Baptist High School and served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper with the 11th Airborne Division. He worked most of his life as a security guard for different organizations. He was a member of Ralph Pollard Lodge, AF & AM, and Anah Temple Shrine. James always had a joke to tell and a smile on his face.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Betty, of Brewer; are three grandchildren, Amie Colby and her husband, Ed, of Surprise, Ariz., Danielle Stacey of Hampden and Lisa Fenton of New Carrollton, Md.; five great-grandchildren, Natalie and Vanessa Colby, Nicholas and Matthew Stacey and Jackson Kim; two brothers, George McHale and his wife, Carolyn, of Corinth and Joel McHale and his wife, Bonnie, of Montana; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Nancy Mae; and by a nephew, James M. McHale.
Family and friends may visit 10 -11 a.m. Friday, May 10, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer, where a service honoring his life will be held at 11 a.m. as the visitation concludes with Rev.
