BANGOR – Mildred Bell King, 94, passed away May 8, 2013, at a Bangor hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born Sept. 2, 1918, in Bangor, the daughter of Lillie Bell (Bright) and Leroy G. Mitchell Sr.
Mildred was a hard worker and raised her family in difficult times working in woolen and textile mills. She loved caring for her gardens and loved her flowers. She enjoyed camping, especially with her late husband Kelton King. More than anything her family was her life and she will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her children, Clara Watson, Muriel “Pinky” Talbot, Charlotte Spencer, Madeline Gowen and Carlene Peltier; brother, Edward Mitchell; several stepchildren; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and two nieces. She was predeceased by her mother, Lillie Mitchell; and brother, Leroy G. Mitchell Jr. Also predeceased by her is first husband, Charles W. Sprague Sr.; son, Charles Sprague Jr.; as well as her second husband Kelton King Sr.; and stepson, Kelton King Jr.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 13, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. Graveside funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, at Oak Grove Cemetery, Finsom Road, Bangor.
