MARS HILL – Richard Keith Wilson, 68, born Aug. 5, 1944, in Mars Hill, died May 8, 2013. Richard was the son of Myrtle Wilson Dysart and Donald Wilson.
Richard lived in Connecticut for most of his adult life where he raised his family and worked as a truck driver and machinist. He also worked as a Union Shop Steward for the Teamsters. He later became owner and operator of his own trucks and upon his return back to Mars Hill, he worked as a truck driver for R&P Trucking. Richard had a caring heart, was a father who loved his children dearly. During his long illness, he showed his family that he had the heart of a lion for life. When Richard had time to fish, that is what you would find him doing.
Richard is survived by two children, Heidi Wilson and Richard Keith Wilson II; and the mother of his children, Linda Wilson; sisters, Donna Wilson of Rumford, R.I., Tammy Wilson and Garnet Mahaney, who was a special friend to Richard, of Anchorage, Alaska and Janet Bradbury and husband, Wayne, of Bridgewater; brother, Darrell Wilson and wife, Rita, of Mars Hill; stepmother, Elva Wilson; several nieces and nephews; special aunt, Helen Wharton; and uncle, Verill Wharton. Richard was predeceased by his mother and father; infant sister, Yvonne; and stepfather, Marshall Dysart; and late Bertha Fletcher. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff, nurses and doctors of The Aroostook Medical Center for their special care of Richard. Often Richard would say “Tell everyone that I love them and please don’t forget me.” Richard Keith Wilson we will not forget you and we will meet you in the clouds.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, May 13, at Duncan Funeral Home, 8 Main St., Mars Hill, with Pastor Lawrence Beals officiating. Interment will be at Kings Grove Cemetery, Mars Hill, after the service. Online condolences may be expressed at www.duncan-graves.com.
