BANGOR – Alice W. Tweedie, 88, died May 12, 2013, at a local nursing home. She was born July 5, 1924, in Greenville, daughter of Charles H. and Velma J. (Ryder) Finley.
Alice graduated from Greenville High School. She enjoyed square dancing and playing golf. Alice was a member of Order of Eastern Star. Alice and her husband lived at Brittany Estates, Leesburg, Fla., for many years, and they served on the committees of the Brittany Estates Community Hall. Alice was a member of the Methodist Church in Greenville Junction. Alice was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Alice is survived by her husband of 69 years, Robert L. Tweedie; son, Robert C. Tweedie and wife, Eilene, of Livermore; two daughters, June Johnston and husband, Wally, of Whitman, Mass., and Suzanne Hutchins and husband, Peter, of West Enfield; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Charlotte Steeves; and brother, David Finley and wife, Vivian. In addition to her parents, Alice is predeceased by sister, Sarita Finley; and brother-in-law, Gerald Steeves.
A graveside service will be held at Greenville Cemetery, Greenville, at a later date.
