MACHIAS, Maine — An East Machias man who was the driver in a fatal crash that killed Francis Finn, 16, of Whiting in February 2012 was indicted this week on charges of manslaughter, reckless conduct and driving to endanger.

Finn was a passenger in a pickup truck driven by Aaron Foss, now 22, of East Machias that went out of control and crashed on Route 191. Foss suffered minor injuries in the crash. Finn was killed instantly after Foss’s 2008 pickup truck went airborne on a slight knoll and then crashed into a utility pole and a tree, according to police reports at the time of the crash. Finn was a student at Washington Academy, where he was a member of the football, basketball and baseball teams, according to his obituary.

Thirteen other people also were indicted on May 13 by a Washington County Grand Jury, including:

Richard Pennell, 47, Whitneyville, domestic violence reckless conduct, domestic violence criminal threatening, and six counts of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

Randall L. Bracket, 27, Milbridge, burglary, theft and aggravated criminal mischief.

Stacy M. Difiore, 46, Lubec, operating after revocation.

Marcus Frutchey, 27, Whitneyville, theft by unauthorized taking.

Ashley J. Gray, 31, Bar Harbor, burglary and theft by unauthorized taking.

Frances G. Hallowell, 44, Ellsworth, burglary, theft by unauthorized taking, and aggravated criminal mischief.

Stephen J. Lacoote, 33, Indian Township, terrorizing, disorderly conduct, and criminal mischief.

Aaron R. Pert, 32, Ellsworth, burglary, theft by unauthorized taking, aggravated criminal mischief, and violation of conditions of release.

Luke A. Smith, 28, Milbridge, burglary, theft by unauthorized taking and aggravated criminal mischief.

Bradley Richard Stephens, 26, New Brunswick, Canada, unlawful possession and illegal importation of scheduled drugs.

Joseph D. Thompson, 37, Calais, operating after revocation.

Katie Ann Thompson, 24, Addison, burglary, burglary of a motor vehicle, and two counts of theft by unauthorized taking.

Joshua Freeman Walter, 21, Addison, burglary, burglary of a motor vehicle, and two counts of theft by unauthorized taking.
