WINTHROP – Aldea “Red” Maheux Cobb, 91, died peacefully May 16, 2013, in Winthrop. Born Feb. 4, 1922, in Augusta, daughter of Arthur and Ida (Daniels) Maheux, Red, as she was fondly known, was one of eight siblings.
Married to Willis “Bud” I. Cobb Sr. for more than 50 years, Red and Bud enjoyed a loving and strong marriage.
Red is survived by three sons, Bill, Bob and Dick Cobb; and daughter, Sue Cobb Doughty; and their spouses, Sharon, Shayne, Betty and Jerry. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Tammy Cobb Law, Debi Cobb Leary, Tracy Cobb, Casey Cobb, Darcy Cobb Fraser, Chris Cobb, Geoff Cobb, Nate Doughty, Brian Doughty and Jennah Doughty Iggulden; 18 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sister, Florence “Mimi” Vogt; brother, Laurent “Dedou” Maheux; sister-in-laws, Pris Maheux and Polly (Jackson) Cobb; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Red was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bud; partners in the Cobb farm, Marion and Chick; brother-in-law, Russ Cobb; sister-in-law, Avis Cobb Maxim and Don; brothers and sisters, Lillian Harrington, Richard Maheux, Aurore Violette, Leo Maheux and Eddie Maheux. Red’s family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Winthrop Manor for their caring and their extraordinary support.
There will be a private interment for family. A memorial service will be scheduled later in the summer.
