BANGOR, Maine — A Carmel man who was heading to court to pay fines Tuesday afternoon wound up with another charge after he was caught with marijuana, police said.

Aaron Knight, 21, was going through security at the entrance of Penobscot Judicial Center when the drugs were found, according to Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards.

Knight was heading to court to pay fines for a previous marijuana possession charge, the sergeant said.

“He wanted to pay his fine for that and he ends up getting caught for it again,” Edwards said.

Knight was charged for possession of marijuana but not arrested, the sergeant said.
