LOWELL, Mass. — Saturday’s scheduled America East Baseball Championship game at LeLacheur Park between the University of Maine and Binghamton University has been postponed.

With rain in the forecast, officials apparently are trying to find an alternate site to play the game on Sunday.

It is believed that if America East cannot find a way to sqeeze in the game by Sunday, the deadline for completion of conference tournament play, UMaine would be declared the champion under league rules because of its 3-1 tournament record and its status as the league regular-season champion and would earn America East’s automatic bid for a berth in an NCAA regional next week.
