The facility features the same FieldTurf in use at Mahaney Diamond in Orono.
The weather is mostly cloudy and 57 degrees with a few sprinkles at 1:15 p.m. The wind is blowing out of the west/northwest at 9 mph with gusts to 18 mph.
The weather is not expected to keep the game from being played. The winner advances to the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship by virtue of America East’s automatic bid.
The NCAA Regionals start Friday or Saturday at sites around the country.
Junior right-hander Mike Connolly, who threw a 121-pitch complete game in the Black Bears’ 3-1 win over Stony Brook on Friday afternoon, gets the start for UMaine. He is 6-3 with a 1.91 earned run average and opponents are batting .208 against him.
Binghamton counters with senior righty Jake Lambert (6-2, 3.22), who pitched a two-hit shutout in the Bearcats’ 9-0 first-round win over Albany on Wednesday.
