BANGOR, Maine — Two men were arrested late Saturday evening after an incident at Barnaby’s nightclub, police said.
Aaron Lyons, 33, of Prospect Harbor and William Tapley, 28, of Bangor both were charged with disorderly conduct, a Class D misdemeanor, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said Tuesday.
The trouble started around 11:30 p.m. when Lyons began arguing with a bartender inside the Odlin Road nightclub, according to Edwards. Tapley also was disorderly with nightclub staff.
Police first warned Lyons to stop yelling and calm down, but Edwards said the man would not stop screaming profanities at the officers.
When police attempted to arrest Lyons, Tapley shouted at the officers to stop and said that Lyons shouldn’t have been arrested, the sergeant said. Tapley also was warned, but reportedly would not stop yelling, so officers arrested him as well.
Both men were taken to Penobscot County Jail and later released on bail.
