BRUNSWICK, Maine — Two people were hospitalized Friday and Saturday after allegedly overdosing on heroin and Suboxone, a narcotic used to treat opioid dependence.

Officers and medical personnel responded at 10:05 a.m. Friday to the Travelers Inn on Pleasant Street after receiving a report that a Wiscasset woman had overdosed on Suboxone, Brunswick Police Deputy Chief Marc Hagan said today.

Less than 24 hours later, emergency medical personnel went to MacMillan Drive for a report that a Brunswick man had overdosed on a brown powdered substance police believe to be heroin.

Both people were taken to Parkview Adventist Medical Center. Their conditions were not available Tuesday.
