HOLDEN – William R. Miller Sr., 71, loving husband of Alice L. (Trusdell) Miller, left us May 28, 2013 at his home in Holden with his family. He was born Feb. 10, 1942, in Philadelphia, the son of Howard and Evelyn (Cox) Miller.
Bill was a devoted father and grandfather. Always the character, his favorite greeting for everyone was “want a beer?” He was a great Elvis singer and would sing for anyone at anytime (TCB). He loved entertaining everyone and always had an interesting story to tell of his life, travels and experiences. Everywhere he went, he always met someone he knew or made a new friend before he left.
Surviving are his wife, Alice Miller of Holden; four children, William R. Miller Jr. and his partner, Daiv Schneider, of Jacksonville, Fla., Jennifer Barker and her husband, Danny, of Eddington, Holly Whitmore and her husband, Rick, of Holden and Randal Miller and his wife, Rachel, of Hamilton, Mont.; grandchildren, Dayle, Alyssa, Abby, Zoe, Camren, MacKenzie, Waylon, Brooke and Cooper; one sister, Carol Sigmon and her husband, Roger, of Fort Myers, Fla.; one brother, Howard Miller and his wife, Barbara, of Galveston, Texas; many nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous close friends. Bill was especially close to several family members including, The Merry Family and James and Barbara Peiffer. A special thank you to Karen Day for her loving care and devotion in his last days.
Family and friends may visit 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 30, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer. A summertime celebration will be held later at the Miller home. Please, no flowers.
