BRUNSWICK, Maine — A 51-year-old Freeport man is in fair condition Tuesday at Maine Medical Center after crashing his motorcycle into the back of a pickup truck just after 3 p.m. Monday.
Andy Fitzherbert was headed east on Old Portland Road when his 1990 Harley-Davidson crashed into the back of a 2005 Ford Ranger pickup driven by 55-year-old Gregory Ketchum of Brunswick, Brunswick Police Sgt. Russ Wrede said Tuesday.
Fitzherbert, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the motorcycle and suffered a serious injury to his left leg, as well as a small head injury and other minor bumps and bruises, Wrede said.
He was listed in fair condition Tuesday morning, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
Ketchum was not injured.
Wrede said officers did forensic mapping of the crash scene but don’t expect any charges to be filed.
