LINCOLN – Florentine B. Whittier, 90, wife of Alfred Whittier, passed away June 11, 2013, at a Lincoln health care facility. She was born Sept. 7, 1922, in Wytopitlock, daughter of Ora and Laura (Butters) Collier.
She had worked at the Lincoln paper mill, the Lincoln public school system and the Lincoln town office where she served as interim town manager on occasion.
In addition to her husband, to whom she was married 62 years on May 20, she is survived by two children, Robert Whittier and wife, Joan, of Barefoot Bay, Fla., and Nancy Emery and husband, Ray, of Lincoln; five grandchildren, Heather Watson, Jonathan Emery, Annie B. Hesseltine, Bobbie Lynn Whittier and Daniel Whittier; eight great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 29, at Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Lincoln Memorial Library.
