MADAWASKA and ST. FRANCIS – Fernande (Thibodeau) Albert, 78, died peacefully with her family by her side, June 12, 2013, at a Madawaska health care facility. She was born Nov. 6, 1934, in St. Francis, daughter of Emile and Sarah (Jandreau) Thibodeau.
Fernande worked at her store in St. Francis for more than 30 years, afterward she was employed for 10 years in the cafeteria at Northern Maine Medical Center. She will be remembered for her cooking. Fernande had a very strong faith, having been a parishioner of St. Charles Catholic Church, St. Francis. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her long time special companion, Hilton “Mick” McBreairty of Allagash; two sons, James and wife, Fran Albert, of Fort Kent, Allan and wife, Carla Albert, of St. Francis; two granddaughters, Krista and Mistie Albert; her beloved puppy, “Baxtor”; five sisters, Jackie Dionne and Nona Michaud both of Springfield, Mass., Odette Jandreau of Caribou, Grace George of Millinocket and Greta Michaud of Enfield, Conn.; brother, Garvin “Pete” Thibodeau of Springfield, Mass; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard “Dick” Albert in 1980; three sisters, Doris Pelletier, Mae Lausier and Letha Thibodeau; and brother, Steve Thibodeau.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, at St. Charles Catholic Church, St. Francis. Committal services will be afterward at the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Edgar J. Paradis Cancer Fund, 194 East Main St., Fort Kent ME 04743. Envelopes will be available at the church. Services by Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent.
