HAMPDEN – Christine “Chrissy” E. Shaw, 77, passed away peacefully June 17, 2013, after a more than 20 year battle with cancer at a Bangor hospital. Christine was born March 10, 1936, in Bangor, daughter of Daniel and Thelma (Violet) Peavey.
Christine was a more than 40-year resident of Hampden where she was known for her day lilies. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Christine is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Walter “Pete” C. Shaw of Hampden; children, Richard A. Shaw of Connecticut, Daniel F. Shaw of Portland, James W. Shaw of Florida and Cindy M. McAvoy of Kenduskeag; six grandchildren; sisters, Marie Dyer of Camden and Geraldine Kitchen of Texas; as well as several special nieces and nephews throughout the country. Christine was predeceased by her parents; and brother, Daniel Peavey Jr.
