VAN BUREN – Jeannine M. (Gagnon) Bouchard, 88, passed peacefully May 29, 2013, at a local hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Blue River, Quebec, daughter of Joseph and Anais (Cyr) Gagnon.
Jeannine worked at Van Buren Community Hospital as a cook for more than 20 years until her retirement in 1986. She was an active member of Daughters of Isabella. She very much loved ballroom dancing, playing cards, and spending time at the lake with the Corbin family.
Jeannine is survived by one son, Russell and wife, Judy Bouchard, of Presque Isle; stepgrandson, Justin and wife, Jennifer, of Limington; along with many nieces and nephews. She will sadly be missed by her dearest friend, Elmer Corbin and family of Van Buren. Jeannine was predeceased by her husband, Leonard Bouchard, in 1965; and four brothers, Omer Gagnon, Jule Gagnon, both of Van Buren, Normand Gagnon and Paul Gagnon, both of St. Foy, Quebec.
A memorial Mass will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, July 13, at St. Bruno’s Catholic Church, Van Buren, where visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Caribou Pet Rescue or Central Aroostook Humane Society.
