BAILEYVILLE – Sandra Marie Blaney, 71, passed away peacefully at her home, Thursday, June 20, 2013, with her family at her side. Sandra was born Nov. 2, 1941, in Calais, to Charles and Mabel (Robb) Redding.
She attended local schools and graduated from St. Croix High School, class of 1960. May 20, 1967, she married Gerald Blaney. Sandra was a smart woman, a hard worker and always put others before herself. She worked for more than 32 years at Fleet Bank, retiring in 1991 as a branch manager which was followed by six more years at Tammaro Oil Company and finally as bookkeeper for the Portland Diocese overseeing six parishes until her last retirement in 2001. Sandra spent many evenings bowling as a member of Spednic Club and Woodland Ladies Bowling League. She was a devoted member of St. James The Greater Parish, Baileyville. Above all Sandra loved spending time with her family at their camp on Big Lake where many wonderful memories were made.
Sandra was predeceased by her parents. Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Gerald Blaney; two sisters, Carolanne Higgins of Auburn and Janice Lea Redding of Baileyville; brother-in-law, Richard Blaney and wife, Arlene, of Baileyville; niece, Dacia Marie Klinkerch of Raymond; two nephews, Robb Redding of Cooper and Donald S. Higgins of Brunswick; friends, Jean Neddeau, Peggy Cox and Phyllis Campbell; and her special caregiver, Sherri Emery, all of Baileyville.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, at Woodland Cemetery, Baileyville, with Father Frank Morin officiating. Services by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.maysfuneralhome.com.
