BAILEYVILLE – Donald Brown, 82, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013, at his home, with his family by his side. Donald was born Sept. 5, 1930, in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, to the late John and Margaret (Stewart) Brown.
He was a Korean War veteran, serving in the Canadian Army as a paratrooper for 10 and a half years. April 15, 1959, he married Sylvia Stadig. Donald retired from Georgia Pacific in 1985, where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sister, Tina. Surviving is his loving wife of 54 years, Sylvia Brown; daughters, Cleo Crandlemire and husband, Chris, of Holden, Bonnie Troiani and husband, Joe, of Baileyville and Chrissy Moore and husband, Gary, of Baileyville; son, Donald Brown and wife, Christina, of Hampton, N.H.; seven grandchildren, Nathan, Calli, Christopher, Todd, Lauren, Zachary and Whitney; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Doreen Hartford of Baileyville and Dale Moyes and husband, Russell, of Ontario; brother, Mert Brown of Calais; brother-in-law, Bob Stadig and wife, Bonnie, of Princeton; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Donald’s life will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, at Woodland Cemetery, Baileyville. Donations in Donald’s memory may be made to William T.
