HOULTON – Robert “Bob” Suitter, 79, died peacefully June 23, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his family and friends after a long battle with cancer. Bob was born March 2, 1934, in Houlton, son of Bert and Hazel Suitter.
He owned and operated Suitter’s Sales and Service, 1963-2013. Bob provided the Houlton area with wrecker service for many years working all hours of the day and night along with many birthdays and holidays. He loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren. His pastime was the Bruins and Red Sox, being a fan through the good times and the bad.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Bonnie (Farrar) Suitter of Houlton; children, Cathy Sewell, David Suitter, Vicki Shoum and husband, John, Kevin Duff and wife, Lisa, Brian Suitter and wife, Sarah, Kim Hall and husband, Perry, and Karen Dawson and friend, Kenneth Gardner; 12 siblings, Ronald, Joanne, Sonnie, Marvin, Glenn, Ray, Jeannette, Darrell, Connie, Ervin, Norma and Larry; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Kenny and Eddie; and sisters, Althea, Maxine and Donna.
Friends may call 11 a.m. until service time 1 p.m. Tuesday, at Houlton Wesleyan Church. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
